Ready to start the most heartwarming adventure of all? Our favorite mission at Cuddles Café is matching our amazing rescue snoots with their new families. When you adopt, you become a "herp hero" and give a remarkable animal a second chance. While a few of our superstar "em-boa-ssadors" are permanent Cuddles Café crew members, most of the scaly friends you'll meet are ready to slither their way into your heart and home!

Ready to become a herp hero? Here's the scoop on our adoption process:

  • The Perfect Matchmaker: We highly recommend booking a "Cozy Coils" session with your potential new family member. It's the best way to get to know their unique personality and see if you're a slithery good match!

  • Get Your Nest Ready! Before the big "welcome home" day, you'll need to send us a photo of the awesome terrarium you've set up. New to building a snake palace? We strongly suggest our “Coil Condos 101” workshop to get you started!

  • Adoption: The adoption fee start at $200. This includes your new best friend, a complete info packet on their personality and care, and a squeaky-clean bill of health certified by our trusted vet.

Your Adoption Journey

1. Find a Connection

Your journey begins by exploring the profiles of our residents. Visit our "Our Snakes" page to see photos and read the unique bios of all the wonderful snakes waiting for a home.

2. The "Meet & Greet"

Once you've found a snake you're interested in, we strongly recommend booking a "Cozy Coils" session with them. This "meet & greet" is the best way to get to know their unique personality and ensure they are a perfect match for your family.

3. Prepare Their Palace

You will need to send us a photo of the completed, species-appropriate terrarium where your new sidekick will be living as part of your application. Consider scheduling a “Coil Condos 101” workshop for this step!.

4. Submit Your Application

After you've found your match, the next step is to fill out our official adoption application. We do not offer same-day adoptions to ensure every placement is a thoughtful and well-considered decision.

5. Application Review & Interview

Our team will carefully review your application. If it seems like a good fit for the snake's specific needs, we will contact you to let you know you’ve been approved and to schedule a brief phone interview. This is a chance for us to get to know you better and answer any questions you may have.

6. Welcome Home!

With an approved application and habitat, we will schedule your official adoption day during the phone interview! You'll receive your new best friend along with their complete info package.

The Adoption Application: In development

To ensure our snakes go to safe and prepared homes, our application will ask questions about:

  • Your Household: Who lives in your home and their experience with reptiles.

  • Your Other Pets: Information about any other pets you currently have.

  • Housing: Confirmation that you are permitted to house exotic pets if you are renting.

  • Commitment: Your understanding of the long-term commitment involved in caring for a snake, which can be 15-20 years or more.

  • Veterinary Care: Your plans for providing future veterinary care for your new pet.

What kind of experience do I need to adopt a snake?

It depends on the snake! Some of our residents are perfect for beginners, while others require more experienced keepers. Our primary goal is to make the perfect match, and we will guide you toward a snake that fits your experience level.

Do you adopt to families with children or other pets?

Yes, absolutely. We believe that interacting with reptiles can be a wonderful and educational experience for families. Our process focuses on matching the right snake temperament with the right home environment to ensure the safety and happiness of both your family and the snake.

What if I can no longer care for my adopted snake?

We understand that life circumstances can change. Our adoption guarantee ensures that if you can ever no longer care for your snake for any reason, you may return it to Cuddles Café so we can find it a new loving home. We are committed to the lifelong well-being of every animal that comes through our doors.

Why is there an adoption fee?

Your adoption fee helps us cover a portion of the significant costs we incur for each rescue, including their initial veterinary check-up, food, and care while they are with us. This allows us to continue our mission and rescue more animals in need.
